Job summary

Technical Talent Group seeks an Industrial Automation Technician to diagnose faults in PLC-driven equipment and service robots, conveyors, sensors, and motor controls. You will work hands-on with VFDs and electrical cabinets while collaborating with automation engineers on upgrades and reliability improvements.

After performing preventive maintenance and responding to downtime, you’ll help drive continuous improvement and mentor others as you advance into senior technical and engineering roles.

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial automation settings.
  • PLC troubleshooting with Allen-Bradley a plus.
  • Knowledge of robotics and automated conveyor systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic abilities.
  • Hands-on with sensors, motor control and VFDs.
  • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults in PLC-controlled equipment and bring systems back online swiftly.
  • Service industrial robots, conveyor lines, sensors, motor controls, and related hardware.
  • Identify and correct issues with VFDs, drives, and electrical control cabinets.
  • Team up with automation engineers on upgrades, optimization efforts, and reliability improvements.
  • Execute preventive maintenance to keep automated lines running at peak performance.
  • Respond to downtime events, contribute to root cause analysis, and prevent recurrence.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Your Background

You’ve supported automated machinery in fast-paced production environments and are comfortable solving both electrical and mechanical problems.

Preferred Expertise
  • Experience in industrial automation settings.
  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley experience is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of robotics and automated conveyor systems.
  • Strong electrical/mechanical diagnostic ability.
  • Hands-on with sensors, motor control, and VFDs.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance methods.
