Job summary

Kautex is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (Controls) in Detroit, MI. The role focuses on inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting plant equipment, with emphasis on hydraulics, pneumatics and robotics.

You will diagnose PLC-driven systems and ensure safe, reliable operation in a high-volume automotive environment. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years of maintenance experience or an related associate degree, and willingness to work the 10pm–6am third shift.

Qualifications

  • Inspects, tests and troubleshoots plant equipment.
  • Has a full understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics and requires little to no supervision.
  • Troubleshoots electrical systems using electrical prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts to identify root cause and restore equipment operation.
  • Works with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
  • Operates and troubleshoots PLC-controlled equipment using Siemens PLC hardware and ladder logic.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, tests and troubleshoots plant equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots PLC-controlled equipment with ladder logic to support recovery.
  • Collaborates with maintenance teams to implement line improvements and safety practices.
  • Performs repairs, installations, and adjustments while following plant standards.
