Job summary

Shearer's Foods in Dayton, OH is seeking a Controls & Maintenance Technician to upkeep and optimize industrial control systems across packaging lines. You will troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs, back up code, perform system upgrades, and train maintenance staff to raise controls capabilities.

The role requires five years of industrial maintenance experience, strong Rockwell software knowledge, electrical troubleshooting, and safety-focused practices within a food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with Rockwell PLCs and programming.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic and mechanical print reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute tasks safely and foster a safety-first culture.
• Troubleshoot PLC/HMI code to diagnose downtime.
• Back up programs and manage changes per safety/quality standards.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on controls equipment.
• Develop and train maintenance personnel on control systems.
• Suggest equipment upgrades to avoid obsolescence.
• Maintain knowledge of new parts, equipment and processes.
