Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. is seeking an experienced automation engineer to provide independent pre- and post-sales engineering support for PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.

The role involves analyzing moderately complex applications, establishing functional requirements, and designing control solutions. You will design and modify PLC/HMI programs, evaluate technical alternatives, and perform root-cause analyses to develop corrective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field required.
• 2-4 years minimum experience with PLC/HMI platforms and system integration.
• Experience delivering customer or channel-partner technical training and engineering presentations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer applications to establish PLC/HMI/I/O/communication requirements.
• Design, develop, test, and modify PLC/HMI programs and system configurations.
• Evaluate alternatives and recommend control architectures and integration methods.
• Perform root-cause analysis on hardware, software, and communications issues.
• Develop validation plans and functional tests for control-system designs.
