Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. is seeking an experienced automation engineer to join our growing North American team in Duluth, Minnesota.

You will analyze customer applications, design PLC/HMI solutions, and collaborate with sales, product management, and R&D to deliver robust control systems. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in PLC/HMI or industrial automation, familiarity with VFDs and industrial networks, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Controls, Mechatronics, Automation, or a closely related engineering discipline."

Responsibilities

Analyze moderately complex customer applications and establish PLC, HMI, I/O, and control-system requirements.
Design, develop, document, test, and modify PLC/HMI programs and configurations.
Evaluate technical alternatives and recommend architectures and configurations.
Perform root-cause analysis of hardware, software, and integration issues.
Develop validation plans and functional tests for control-system designs.
Provide engineering guidance for installation, commissioning, and optimization of automation systems.
Serve as escalation resource for PLC Specialist I and provide guidance on application issues.
