Job summary

AMERICAN NTN BEARING MANUFACTURING in Elgin, IL is seeking an Electrical (IACS) Technician for 2nd and 3rd shift to troubleshoot and repair PLC-based control systems on CNC machines, monitor and modify PLC programs, and plan wiring of electrical panels on industrial gear. Starting wage is $28.00 per hour with 2nd and 3rd shift differentials of $2.50 and $3.00 respectively.

The base pay will vary by knowledge, experience, location and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience plus high school diploma/GED required.
• Working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
• Ability to read electrical schematic drawings and understand AC to DC power supply.
• Knowledge of PLC I/O modules and Ladder Logic.
• Basic knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and servo control functions.
• Knowledge of electronic motors (3-phase, single-phase, DC).
• Ability to read safety/operating instructions and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot automated production machinery, identify root causes, and repair.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical/electronic components such as relays, switches, motors, sensors, PLCs.
• Safely connect power to machines and wire between machines.
• Plan wiring layout and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus.
• Test motor insulation and maintain lighting systems.
