Job summary

General Shale in Elgin, TX is seeking a PLC / Electrical Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve plant electrical systems and automated equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports production through preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and on-call technical support.

The position requires 5+ years of industrial electronics or electrical experience, NEC knowledge, and experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial electronics or electrical experience.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC codes.
• Experience with motor control, VFDs, HMIs, industrial networking, and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic wiring and installation of industrial electrical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems and automated machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems.
• Modify and update software and equipment to support operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and controls.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-shifts and weekends.
• Work primarily with control systems and software.

Position Overview:

The PLC / Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant electrical systems and automated equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. • Industrial electrician experience strongly desired
