Job summary

LaMotte Company in Newark, DE is seeking a Maintenance Technician for day shift to maintain plant equipment and diagnose PLC‑controlled machinery. The role requires 1–2 years of maintenance experience, knowledge of electrical systems, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

EPA certification preferred, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You will support lean initiatives, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and

Qualifications

Must have 1–2 years of maintenance experience.
Requires good math skills and ability to read and understand manuals/instructions.
Thorough knowledge of PLC‑controlled machinery.
Experience in electrical machine maintenance and modification.
Advanced in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general computer apps.
Experience in building construction and modification.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment, especially electrical/PLC systems.
Upgrade equipment from relay logic to PLC controls by building panels from wiring diagrams.
Maintain a total productive maintenance program following instructions and procedures.
Support HVAC, vacuum, dust collection, dehumidifier units, air compressors, furnaces, lighting, etc.
Assist with equipment breakdowns and complete maintenance work requests.
Participate in lean activities and DMAIC projects.
Notify manager of issues and provide training needs feedback.
