Job summary

Bosch USA in Florence, KY is seeking a PLC Controls Technician to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-controlled systems using Siemens S7 and TIA Portal. You will support manufacturing operations with diagnostics, system improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to boost equipment reliability and efficiency.

This direct-hire role involves shifts (2nd/3rd/C/D) and requires collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and operations to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming languages (IEC 61131-3) including LAD, FBD, SCL, STL, and GRAPH.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with electrical servicing and installations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience troubleshooting vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
• Experience with servo drives (Rexroth, Siemens).

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and maintain PLC systems per corporate standards.
• Develop and support HMI applications for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment and automation issues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Modify PLC programs and interface communications with industrial devices.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with vision systems, including Cognex and Keyence.
• Troubleshoot and maintain servo drive systems with Rexroth and Siemens platforms.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Support mechanical troubleshooting and assist with general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Identify programming issues and communicate findings to Controls Engineers.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on recurring issues and opportunities for system improvements.
• Maintain a proactive approach to learning new technologies and improving technical skills.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing sensors, machine safety systems, and measurement devices like Kistler.
• Proficient in basic programming and troubleshooting of FANUC robotics.
