Job summary

Bosch seeks a PLC Controls Technician to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-controlled systems using Siemens S7 and TIA Portal, supporting manufacturing operations with diagnostics and improvements to ensure equipment reliability.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with multiple shifts and overtime as needed. The role requires mechatronics/electrical tech background and strong automation skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in mechatronics or electrical tech.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with PLCs (IEC 61131-3) and automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and maintain PLC systems per standards.
  • Develop and support HMI applications for manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Modify PLC programs and interface communications with industrial devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve vision-system issues (Cognex, Keyence).
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Rexroth and Siemens servo drives.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and operations to boost reliability.
  • Support mechanical troubleshooting and general maintenance tasks.
  • Identify programming issues and report findings to Controls Engineers.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering on recurring issues and improvements.
  • Pursue learning of new technologies to advance skills.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting sensors and safety/measurement devices; basic robotics programming (FANUC).

As a PLC Controls Technician, you will design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-controlled systems using Siemens S7 and TIA Portal, while supporting manufacturing operations through advanced diagnostics, system improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Options:
2nd shift: Mon-Fri 2pm-10pm
3rd shift: Mon-Fri 10pm-6am
C Shift: Sat-Mon 5am-5pm
D Shift: Sat-Mon 5pm-5am

*Overtime may be required based on business needs

  • Design, program, and maintain PLC systems in accordance with corporate standards
  • Develop and support HMI applications for manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment and automation issues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Modify PLC programs and interface communications with industrial devices
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with vision systems, including Cognex and Keyence
  • Troubleshoot and maintain servo drive systems, particularly Rexroth and Siemens platforms
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment performance and reliability
  • Support mechanical troubleshooting and assist with general maintenance tasks as needed
  • Identify programming issues and communicate findings to Controls Engineers
  • Provide feedback to Engineering on recurring issues and opportunities for system improvements
  • Maintain a proactive approach to learning new technologies and improving technical skills
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing different type of sensors, machine safety systems and measurement systems and devices like Kistlers
  • Proficient in basic programming, manipulating, maintaining and troubleshooting robotics, with emphasis on FANUC robots.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming languages (IEC 61131-3), including Ladder Logic (LAD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Control Language (SCL), Statement List (STL), and GRAPH
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with electrical servicing and installations
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience troubleshooting vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
  • Experience with servo drive systems, including Rexroth and Siemens platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal
  • PLC and Robotics experience. FANUC and ABB robots is a plus.
