Job summary

Hood Lumber in Mississippi is seeking a PLC Technician to diagnose and optimize PLC-controlled systems across sawmill and processing lines. You will troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control issues and support new control system upgrades.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial PLCs, experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, and the ability to read schematics. Candidates must be able to work all shifts and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
2+ years of industrial PLC experience.
Manufacturing experience; wood products experience preferred.
Strong ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled electrical, instrumentation, and process systems.
Interpret PLC logic and modify to restore or improve equipment performance.
Coordinate work with production and maintenance to minimize downtime.
Set up test equipment, document results, and analyze performance.
Maintain backups for PLC programs and computer systems.
Ensure OSHA, health, safety, and environmental regulations compliance.
