Aegis Worldwide is representing a client in the industrial sector seeking an Electrical Supervisor / PLC Programmer to lead a shift of electricians on the production floor. The role focuses on hands‑on troubleshooting, PLC programming edits, and driving equipment reliability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial electrical experience, strong ladder logic skills, and hands‑on leadership capabilities on the shop floor. This is a first‑shift, full‑time opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial electrical and controls experience.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and edit ladder logic.
  • Experience with RSLogix 500/5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix and FactoryTalk View.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and modify Allen‑Bradley PLC programs to support production equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues throughout the facility.
  • Support and troubleshoot VFDs, servo systems, three‑phase motors, and motor controls.
  • Lead and support a team of approximately 7–8 electricians.
  • Coordinate electrical maintenance activities while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and process optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Job description

Our client is a well-established industrial manufacturing company seeking a highly skilled Electrical Supervisor / PLC Programmer to join their first-shift leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a controls professional who enjoys remaining hands‑on while leading a small team of experienced electricians. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time troubleshooting electrical systems, modifying PLC programs, supporting automation equipment, and driving equipment reliability throughout the facility.

This is not a desk‑only supervisory role—the ideal candidate enjoys being on the production floor solving complex electrical and controls issues.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and modify Allen‑Bradley PLC programs to support production equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues throughout the facility
  • Support and troubleshoot:
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Servo systems
  • Three‑phase motors
  • Motor controls
  • Proximity sensors
  • Electrical control systems
  • Perform PLC troubleshooting using ladder logic and make program edits as needed
  • Lead and support a team of approximately 7‑8 electricians
  • Coordinate electrical maintenance activities while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and process optimization
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel across multiple shifts when necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical and controls experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and edit ladder logic
  • Experience with:
  • RSLogix 500/5000
  • ControlLogix
  • CompactLogix
  • FactoryTalk View
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • VFDs
  • Servo systems
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Experience with industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet) is a plus
  • Associate's degree or technical education preferred but not required
  • Sawmill or lumber industry experience is a plus but not required
