Job summary

KLA Milpitas, CA is seeking an Electrical Control Systems Engineer to design, program, and optimize PLC-based control systems and HMIs for advanced semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment.

You will work across the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to commissioning, integrating FPGA hardware and DSPs as needed, with a strong emphasis on robust, scalable control architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Electrical Engineering
• Electrical engineering background
• Basic electrical circuit design with design tools such as OrCAD, AutoCAD, PSpice, Xilinx/Altera FPGA /EPLD or development system
• PLC programming design (Siemens, Allen Bradley, OMRON, etc.)
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar analysis tools
• Project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact work across your area of expertise to advance business priorities.
• Design and implement PLC logic, schematics, and intuitive HMI solutions.
• Develop and tune PID control loops for temperature, motion, or process feedback.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers for system integration.
• Lead projects from initiation through completion.
