Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Alabama is seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Specialist to lead safety, quality and productivity through effective maintenance of automation equipment. This role develops plans and collaborates with operations to maximize uptime.

Candidates should have a degree in electrical engineering or related field, with experience in automation equipment and Allen Bradley PLCs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 1+ years job related experience preferred or Associate degree with 3–5 years experience.
Knowledge of automation equipment maintenance, drives, PLCs, and pulp/paper industry.
Willing to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement plans to ensure safety, quality, productivity and efficient use of automation maintenance personnel.
Provide maintenance input on long-term automation equipment decisions and maintain existing equipment for maximum uptime.
Arrange outside contractor services and equipment to meet department needs.
Provide input to daily/weekly planning to ensure cost-effective schedules and manpower.
Establish and monitor automation preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
Support shutdown scheduling and long-term equipment decisions for uptime.
Coordinate outside services as required to meet department goals.
