Tesco Controls seeks a PLC Applications Engineer in California to design, program, and test PLC and OIT controls for water/wastewater projects. You will analyze requirements, develop solutions, and validate software against project specs, including startup support.
Requires 5+ years of related experience and a BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology. Travel ~30–40% within California; strong comms and mentoring skills are a plus.

Under little to no supervision, the PLC Applications Engineer writes PLC programs, OIT programs, and software control descriptions for controlling various water and/or wastewater processes. Responsible for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of programmable logic for such applications. Verify that all aspects of PLC & OIT functionality meet required project specifications and perform bench testing, shop testing, and troubleshooting during startup and post commissioning. Ability and willingness to train and aid other programmers, along with assisting in the development of departmental best practices and standards.
This role will travel about 30-40% of the time throughout California.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology or related field and necessary experience
Applied knowledge in programming major manufacturers (Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Tesco, etc.) PLCs & OITs
Excellent understanding of computer operations, Microsoft Office
Excellent knowledge of instruments and electro-mechanical devices used for process control
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
High level of organizational and time management skills
High level of project management skills
