Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking an Enrichment Leader for Playground Partners at the Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA in Oceanside. The role runs Tue–Fri from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, supervising elementary students during lunch and recess and leading high-energy sports activities.

You will plan and implement lesson plans for K–5 sports, ensure safety, and act as a positive role model. CPR/First Aid within 30 days; multi-stakeholder collaboration with staff and families essential.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old and able to work with children ages 5-12 from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to lead students in 2+ areas: games, crafts, drama, songs, science, art, team building or sports.
• Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training before working with participants.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire (adult and child/infant).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily program activities per YMCA policies.
• Serve as Elementary School Coach for Playground Partners.
• Lead sports activities during lunch/recess for grades K-5.
• Supervise participants and ensure safety at all times.
• Maintain positive relations with staff, students and families.
• Adhere to schedule and be prepared for each shift.
• Model positive behavior for students.
• Participate in staff meetings and activities.
• Provide guidance supporting developmental, social-emotional and physical needs.
• Maintain space, keep it organized, clean and safe.
