Job summary

GameTime in Fort Payne, Alabama, seeks a creative Designer to transform concepts into safe, manufacturable playground components. You’ll own projects from concept to completion, working with Product Management, Design Technicians, Drafting, Manufacturing, and Testing to deliver accurate, production-ready models.

You’ll apply industrial/mechanical design theory, CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor), and knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods to create inclusive, durable playground products

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in industrial or mechanical design is required.
• Proficiency in CAD software and creating accurate models.
• Strong teamwork and ability to meet release deadlines.
• Experience with field installations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use Autodesk Inventor and other required software tools to produce accurate concept models and final production models.
• Help develop new and custom commercial playground products using metal tubing, rotationally molded plastic, routed polyethylene, cable, and sheet metal.
• Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods to new product designs.
• Develop product concepts into finalized models and assemblies used to generate shop drawings and installation manuals.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource on safety compliance, product function, and inclusive design.
• Produce manufacturable designs within demanding timelines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Provide project input to Design Technicians and Drafters and review their output for accuracy.
• Study models, build prototypes, and participate in playground installations to deepen knowledge of GameTime products.
