Job summary

PlayCore in Minneapolis designs playgrounds and recreation spaces, translating client and sales concepts into buildable 2D and 3D designs, and delivering installation-ready drawings that meet site constraints and safety standards.

The Designer collaborates with Sales and the design team through the full design lifecycle—from concept to documentation—embracing a structured, efficient process and a desire to grow within a collaborative, process-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or near completion.
• Associate’s degree in CAD Drafting & Design or related discipline.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling/rendering software.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and construction documents.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven mindset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design build-ready solutions for playgrounds and recreation projects.
• Develop accurate 2D site plans and 3D layouts using AutoCAD and 3D software.
• Produce installation-ready drawings with layouts, surfacing, and color/material selections.
• Ensure designs comply with safety standards (ASTM, CPSC, ADA, local codes).
• Collaborate with Sales and senior designers to translate concepts into buildable solutions.
• Assist in managing design revisions and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project execution with clear communication and organized files.
