Job summary

Activision in Middleton, WI is seeking a Systems Designer to invent, pitch, implement, and tune player-first experiences for a global audience. The role is onsite with four days per week in the Middleton office, requiring proactive ownership and strong communication to collaborate with internal and external partners.

You will balance game systems, create design docs, and mentor other designers while contributing to an ambitious FPS portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the games industry in a system design role.
• Proven experience implementing with programming/scripting languages.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the FPS games space.
• Broad understanding of game systems from feel to progression.
• Experience writing high and low level design documentation (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Miro).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Creative Directors, Designers, Engineers, Artists, Producers, and Animators to deliver world-class game systems.
• Research subject matter to ensure authentic experiences for design objectives.
• Independently implement high-level direction.
• Pitch designs and features using multimedia tools.
• Create and maintain design documents and system specifications with clear assessments.
• Champion and advocate for the player experience.
• Mentor fellow Designers.
