Job summary

Winchester Interconnect in Melbourne, FL, is seeking a Plating Technician to join our brand-new plating shop. You will work independently with maximum efficiency, supporting lean processes to reduce costs while delivering high-quality results and maintaining safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with management, production staff, vendors, and customers to improve production, train staff on processes, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reductions within our ACE culture.

Qualifications

• Safety & chemical handling experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand all day and move between process areas.
• Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Basic understanding of drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying product and process documentation, parts lists, tools and fixtures.
• Set up and operate plating equipment, tanks and fixtures to plate components.
• Review documentation and work instructions for alignment with engineering drawings.
• Follow daily and weekly task instructions.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment per Winchester policies.
• Document inspection and test results, materials, tools per specs and procedures.
• Collaborate with management, employees, vendors, and customers to drive positive impact.
• Investigate production problems and recommend solutions; train staff on processes.

As a Plating Technician, you will be a part of a team responsible for various operational duties in our brand new plating shop. This position requires a high degree of independence, and you will be expected to work on products unsupervised with maximum efficiency. You will support the lean process to promote cost reductions and maximize profitable growth, provide excellent customer service and quality, and promote continual improvement and safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Safety & Chemical Handling: Comfortable working with chemicals and strictly adhering to all safety requirements.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills to support product assembly and manufacturing.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to be on your feet all day and move between different process areas.
• Capable of working independently, staying on task, and managing multiple priorities with deadlines.
• Basic understanding of drawings, work instructions, and computer data entry skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to provide feedback

What will you be Accountable for?

• Prepares work by studying product and process documentation, parts list, tools and fixtures
• Sets up and operates appropriate equipment, tanks and fixtures to plate various components
• Reviews documentation and work instructions to ensure alignment with engineering drawings.
• Follows all instructions provided for daily and weekly tasks
• Maintains safe, clean working environment in compliance with Winchester policies and procedures
• Records and documents all assembly related inspection and test results, materials / parts, tools and fixtures in accordance with defined product and process specifications and assembly procedures
• Performs all labor, parts and related transactions on time and accurately in compliance with Winchester policies and procedures
