Job summary

Winchester Interconnect in Melbourne, FL is seeking an assembler to join a collaborative team. You will contribute to lean processes, support cost reductions, and ensure quality and on-time production while following established procedures.

You will prepare work, set up equipment, work with QA and engineering to resolve issues, document results, and train others, while upholding safety and our ACE values.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work by studying product and process documentation.
  • Set up equipment and assemble connectors and parts per specs.
  • Collaborate with Assembly Lead, QA and Process Engineering to ensure quality.
  • Perform in-process inspections and tests per specs.
  • Maintain safe, clean work environment per Winchester policies.
  • Record all inspection results and materials per specs.
  • Complete labor and parts transactions in compliance with policies.
  • Train production staff on processes and methods.
  • Suggest improvements to Engineering as needed.

Position Summary:

As our Assembler, you will be a part of a team responsible for various operational duties working closely with co-workers, supervisors, and management to meet production requirements. You will support the lean process to promote cost reductions and maximize profitable growth, provide excellent customer service and quality, and promote continual improvement and safety.

Are You Our Next ACE?

  • Prepares work by studying product and process documentation, parts list, tools and fixtures
  • Sets up and operates appropriate equipment, tools and fixtures to assemble connectors, labels, and associated parts to form a complete cable assembly in accordance with specifications
  • Works with Assembly Lead, QA, and Process Engineering to ensure product quality, by identifying and resolving assembly issues, as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
  • Performs appropriate in process inspections and tests such as workmanship, dimensional, and interface gauging in accordance with product and process specifications
  • Maintains safe, clean working environment in compliance with Winchester policies and procedures
  • Records and documents all assembly-related inspection and test results, materials/parts, tools and fixtures in accordance with defined product and process specifications and assembly procedures
  • Performs all labor, parts and related transactions on time and accurately in compliance with Winchester policies and procedures
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency by effectively training production staff on manufacturing/assembly processes and methods
  • Make sure the written process translates into efficient and reliable production and recommend changes to Engineering as required
