Job summary

BETA Technologies seeks a Platform Software Engineer for the Development Platform team in Vermont. You will build and maintain internal platform services and automation tooling to empower engineers, IT, and HelpDesk with guardrails and self-serve capabilities.

You'll enable citizen developers, contribute to the BETA OS initiative, and help standardize patterns across the software portfolio while advancing delivery reliability and velocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with Gitlab CI/CD pipelines and deployment
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted coding tools (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in a professional or project setting
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure fundamentals
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
• Curiosity-driven problem solver with a strong desire to improve developer experience and reduce toil

Responsibilities

• Support Citizen Developers by enabling access to internal platforms and AI-assisted coding tools
• Build and maintain internal platform services, APIs, and automation tooling for provisioning and management
• Contribute to the BETA OS project with cross-functional teams and shared release pipelines
• Develop tooling to improve IT and HelpDesk efficiency and automate ticketing/workflows
• Promote platform standards across teams with reusable components and templates
• Identify gaps in developer experience and prototype improvements to boost velocity
