Eliassen Group seeks an Infrastructure Reliability Engineer to join the Compute management team in Durham, NC. The role focuses on Windows, Linux, and virtualization, driving automation and observability while ensuring stability and security.

The position runs with shift-based coverage and requires collaboration with senior technologists and vendors. The candidate will contribute to incident and change execution, participate in KPIs, and communicate across engineering and operations leaders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT experience focusing on server and storage infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu).
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or OLVM.
• On-call coverage and incident management experience.
• Scripting and AI proficiency.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers and application teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage Windows, Linux, and virtualization operating systems.
• Oversee hypervisors and hardware infrastructure.
• Drive automation and observability initiatives and promote DevOps/EngOps practices.
• Ensure security compliance and execute patching activities.
• Maintain environment stability and support critical server operations.
• Participate in incident management and change execution.
• Contribute to KPIs and metrics.
• Collaborate with global teams and vendors to resolve issues.
