Job summary

MANTECH in Annapolis Junction, MD seeks a Platform Orchestration Engineer Developer to design, build, and maintain automation for deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of networked systems.

You'll bridge software development, infra automation, and network engineering, turning manual tasks into scalable orchestration and tooling, with focus on Python-based services and IaC via Terraform and Ansible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or closely related field.
• 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Python development for automation, orchestration, or infrastructure tooling.
• Experience with REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.
• Solid networking fundamentals including IP addressing, VLANs, routing, DNS.
• Experience with virtualization/private clouds such as VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation solutions for deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of networked systems.
• Architect and maintain mission platforms, planning tools, and visualization interfaces.
• Lead transitions of legacy systems to cloud environments using Kubernetes, VMware, Proxmox, and related tech.
• Implement containerized environments to increase agility and scalability of cyber capabilities.
• Provide tier-level support to ensure data, communications, and system health for range and lab end-users.
• Develop IaC using Terraform and Ansible; design orchestration workflows for infrastructure deployment.
• Build Python-based services and integration layers interacting with hypervisors and management systems.
