Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Platform Operations Manager to lead the design, deployment, and operation of the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) modernization program. This role focuses on a containerized, microservices stack and ensuring uptime, reliability, and security in a fast-paced environment.

You will guide DevSecOps practices, collaborate across disciplines, manage a team of sysadmins, and drive SAFe Agile release planning while coordinating with systems engineers to meet performance

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, CS, or related field with 15+ years of experience; Master’s with 13+ years acceptable.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CISSP) or equivalent.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Linux, GitLab pipelines, and containerized environments.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and sustain enterprise-scale systems.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and data platforms (Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka).
• Strong communication, incident response, and SAFe Agile participation.

Responsibilities

• Lead uptime, performance, and capacity planning for large-scale data platforms.
• Own triage, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Define reliability metrics (SLIs/SLOs) and drive improvements.
• Manage a team of system administrators and mentor staff.
• Collaborate with systems engineers on design solutions and documentation.
• Participate in SAFe Agile release planning, scrums, and cross-team coordination.
