About the Role
We’re hiring our very first Platform Lead—a unique opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial operator to shape and scale our Platform function from the ground up. As a key member of our small, collaborative team, you’ll work closely with the VP of Operations and have access to resources ranging from tech platforms to contractor support. This role is perfect for someone who combines strategy with a hands-on approach, drawing on prior experience launching programs, deepening network relationships, and driving measurable value across a portfolio.
This role is at the Manager or Associate Director level (subject to candidate experience) and reports directly to the VP of Operations, who will be your partner and advocate as you shape the future of Platform at Collide. Responsibilities
- Portfolio Engagement & SupportManage onboarding and Founder check-in workflows that deepen founder relationships and enrich portfolio insights.Architect, manage, and continuously improve how we capture portfolio metrics - ensuring accurate and timely collection - in close collaboration with the VP of Operations and the Investment Team.Design, pilot, and manage programs and resources that support portfolio companies’ GTM and fundraising needs, including educational series, playbooks, expert networks, and exposure opportunities.Manage existing and new communication channels with our Founders, with support of an outsourced marketing resource (e.g. Newsletters, Slack).Manage data-driven storytelling initiatives that amplify our Founders’ stories and drive awareness among their target ICP, with support from an outsourced marketing resource.
- Network BuildingUnify and grow existing and new relationships with the Collide ecosystem in service of supporting our portfolio’s most critical needs, including corporate partners, operators, founders, and peer firms.Design and oversee the execution of founder-focused events, with the support of an outsourced event coordinator.
- Operational & Process ManagementSynthesize portfolio data for quarterly and annual reporting requests (internal and external), in collaboration with the VP of Operations and the Investment team.Streamline and enhance internal workflows related to our portfolio, integrating new tools, automations, and AI to improve efficiency and scale with our firm over time.
Requirements
- Education: B.A. or higher
- Professional Experience:3+ years in a Platform or adjacent role that combined data management, strategy/consulting, and program managementIndustry experience within venture capital (strongly preferred), high-growth startup, or similar environment.
- Technical Experience:
- Data management in a relational database (e.g. Airtable, Totem, Standard Metrics) - Intermediate-Advanced
- Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint) - Intermediate
- Google Workspace (e.g. Gmail, Drive, Docs) - Intermediate-Advanced
- CRM (e.g. Affinity) - Basic
- AI Productivity Tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Granola, Quill, etc) – Basic. You should already be embracing AI in your daily workflow to reduce friction/time spent on deliverables.
- Behavioral Traits:
- Personable and engaging, with a knack for developing strong relationships with founders and external stakeholders within the broader venture community
- Able to code-switch between diving deep into a dataset and ideating around new platform offerings, without getting too bogged down.
- Solid storytelling skills that aim to persuade an audience (tip: be prepared to share examples from meetings, projects, or presentations you’ve owned)
- High level of comfort being proactive and self-directed with minimal supervision
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities.
Compensation: Competitive salary against industry benchmarks for emerging managers
