Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking a Platform Engineer to design and build data-generation, human-in-the-loop, and evaluation infrastructure that powers our AI development work. You will own core services and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

The role requires strong Kubernetes expertise, proficiency with Node.js or Python, and hands-on experience with distributed systems on AWS or GCP.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and maintaining platform infrastructure.
• Experience operating production distributed systems or data platforms.
• Strong Kubernetes expertise and cloud experience (AWS or GCP).
• Proficiency in Node.js or Python; Kafka/Redis/Elasticsearch helpful.
• CS education or equivalent foundations.
• Startup or data-intensive environment experience is a plus.
• Authorized to work in the United States without student visa status.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core infrastructure for data generation, human-in-the-loop workflows, and evaluation pipelines.
• Own foundational systems, improving scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Partner with engineering teams to provide platform services.
• Architect distributed systems for large datasets and high-throughput workloads.
• Establish engineering practices for system design, deployment, and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
