Job summary

Aaru, a leader in behavioral simulations, is seeking a Platform Team head in New York City to define technical direction, architect systems, and drive delivery across the platform stack. You will recruit, mentor, and manage engineers, turning cutting‑edge ML/AI research into reliable product capabilities for customers.

Job description

Location: New York City · In person, five days a week

Compensation: $280,000–$425,000 base

About Aaru

Aaru builds simulations of human behavior. Each simulation contains a population of agents, each representing a person who could plausibly exist in the real world and capable of making decisions within a modeled environment. Companies and institutions use these simulations to test consequential choices before committing—from product launches and policy changes to critical communications. Because the agents are simulated rather than recruited, they can reason through complex hypotheticals without fatigue or the response effects common in human studies.

The role

The Platform team makes Aaru’s simulations usable. It builds the APIs, workflows, and interfaces customers use to configure simulations, run them, and interpret the results. You will lead that team. Managers at Aaru remain engineers. You will set technical direction, make architecture decisions, write code, hire the team, and be accountable for the quality and pace of what it ships.

Strong candidates may also have

• Experience with developer platforms, APIs, or products built on ML/AI systems.

• Time as a founder or early engineer at a fast-growth startup.

• A track record of close work with research teams.

Compensation and benefits

Base salary of $280,000–$425,000, equity, and full benefits. Final level and compensation depend on experience and sit within our internal bands.
