Job summary

Alliant Credit Union is seeking a senior Platform Engineer to define the enterprise-wide platform strategy and target architectures for Fabric, Foundry/OpenAI, Databricks, and Synapse. You will own the full lifecycle of cloud platforms and set standards across engineering domains.

You will mentor senior engineers, influence governance, and work with executives to turn strategy into actionable platform capabilities while pursuing cost optimization and a platform-first approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years in platform engineering, cloud infra, or SRE related roles.
• In lieu of education: 12 years supporting enterprise platform environments.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide platform strategy, vision, and target-state architectures for platforms such as Fabric, Foundry/OpenAI, Databricks, and Synapse.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of cloud platforms.
• Establish standards and guardrails across platform engineering domains.
• Drive innovation in cloud, data, and AI platforms.
• Lead large-scale transformation initiatives (platform modernization, DC exit, AI adoption).
• Mentor senior and lead engineers; shape engineering culture and direction.
• Partner with executives to translate strategy into platform capabilities.
