Job summary

Signet Jewelers seeks a Senior Director, Platform Engineering to define and scale the technical foundation behind its ecommerce storefronts and order management. You will own solution architecture, cloud strategy on AWS, and AI in the software lifecycle, delivering reusable, secure services across brands.

You will lead architects and engineers across onshore/offshore teams, align governance with security, and drive cost-optimized, high-performing platforms for peak trading periods.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive technology leadership across software, platform, or enterprise tech.
• 7+ years leading large-scale platform engineering teams.
• Proven experience building and scaling reusable services, APIs, and production-grade systems.
• Hands-on ownership of environments, release pipelines, and performance engineering.
• Experience guiding architects/engineers without direct reports across teams.
• Experience moving capability in-house from an integrator or MSP.
• Experience in high-volume consumer ecommerce or seasonal retail environments.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Preferred multi-brand or multi-storefront experience and headless/composable commerce.

Responsibilities

• Define and own enterprise solution architecture across commerce and order management.
• Build and scale platform engineering capabilities and reusable components.
• Own AWS cloud platform direction and AI in SDLC tooling and cost measures.
• Mature CI/CD, DevSecOps, and integration platforms with a single release path.
• Oversee environment management, performance engineering, and edge delivery.
• Establish standards, guardrails, and reusable accelerators for secure delivery.
• Lead security engineering and embed governance into pipelines and platforms.
• Lead a permanent engineering/architecture team, coordinating onshore/offshore capacity.
• Manage partner relationships and internalize standards over time.
