Job summary

DISCO in the United Kingdom and the United States seeks a Staff Software Engineer (Platform) to lead large-scale data platform initiatives and mentor senior engineers. You will shape architecture, optimize performance, and own critical subsystems across teams.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and data teams to ensure scalable, observable, and secure data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based services powering analytics at petabyte scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in backend engineering with big data focus.
• Experience with SOA, Docker-based services, microservices, API and data model design.
• Proven leadership in large software projects and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across teams.
• Design high-performance, scalable data platforms.
• Own critical subsystems and ensure observability.
• Collaborate with product managers and executives on architecture.
• Develop and optimize ETL and data integration pipelines.
