Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of the Internal Developer Portal and Platform across our multi-cloud environment. You will set patterns, standards, and automation to reduce toil and accelerate engineering work across Mastercard and its M&A initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural excellence, and collaborate with IT, product owners, and stakeholders to create meaningful roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of lead software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting internal development platforms in multi-cloud environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration across IT, product owners and stakeholders.
• Experience guiding engineers with code reviews, design reviews and pair programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the Internal Developer Portal and Platform.
• Drive patterns and standards for Internal Developer Platform integration and automation.
• Create mechanisms to ensure alignment to those standards in an automated fashion.
• Mentor and guide software engineers and lead the team to improve engineering productivity, quality, and policy compliance.
• Identify opportunities for reuse and improved efficiency.
• Engage with IT and business partners to build meaningful roadmaps.
