Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead major projects and deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget. You will collaborate with business and technical partners to define scope, costs, ROI, risks, and constraints, and build robust business cases.

Expect a strong coding background in Java/Spring or Python, with exposure to AWS and data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience delivering secure solutions in Financial Services preferred.
Leadership in matrix-based project teams and cross-functional collaboration.
Proven ability to embody Mastercard leadership principles and drive technical direction.

Responsibilities

Lead definition, development, and delivery of major cross-department initiatives with broad scope and long-term business implications.
Perform proofs of concepts (PoCs) to assess technologies and provide strategic recommendations.
Lead creation of roadmaps aligned with department strategy and coach team members.
Define and lead QA/QC processes and ensure quality metrics and standards.
Ensure compliance with Audit and Compliance requirements and documentation throughout SDLC.
