Job summary

Authorium is hiring a Head of Engineering to lead the platform powering GovTech workflows for procurement, contract, and grant management. You will own the team, technical execution, and delivery excellence for mission-critical software used by government agencies.

You will work with on-shore and off-shore squads to ensure security, compliance, and an exceptional user experience while growing a small, high-impact engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building software systems.
• 2–3 years direct engineering leadership.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and cloud architecture.
• Recent technical depth with architectural work and incident diagnosis.
• Track record of predictable quality and delivery.
• Experience leading a distributed team across time zones.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and critical human review of agent-produced code.
• Comfortable in a growing startup environment and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical contribution in codebase and mentoring.
• Lead, coach, and grow a blended team across time zones.
• Own delivery commitments and set realistic timelines.
• Own architecture decisions and liaise with security/compliance.
• Set engineering quality standards and release safety.
• Oversee production reliability and incident response.
• Champion AI-native engineering practices across the team.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery, Experience, and Solutions.
