Job summary

Broadcom seeks a senior Platform Engineer to own the design and maintenance of VCF Networking platform components on Kubernetes, located in Promontory, California.

You will design, deploy and optimize distributed systems, leveraging PostgreSQL, replication, TCP/IP, virtualization, and container orchestration with Kubernetes. Proficiency in Java, C++, Go or Python and mentoring junior engineers are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in distributed systems design and implementation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience with 6+ years in distributed systems design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, lead and maintain multiple platform components including runtime libraries, messaging and datastore services to ensure robustness, scalability and performance.
• Apply industry standards and best practices to transform home grown database into highly available and scalable containerized service on Kubernetes.
• Mentor and guide junior developers.

About The Role

Job Description

We are looking for a senior hands-on engineer to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of VCF Networking.

Core Competencies

• Experience building highly reliable fault tolerant Distributed Systems
• Strong familiarity with database internals (e.g., Postgres), replication, TCP/IP and virtualized environments (i.e.VMWare vSphere)
• Deep experience in architectural transformation and modernization of existing services into containerized applications, owning the deployment, infrastructure, and ongoing orchestration on Kubernetes platforms
• Recent and proficient experience with Java, C++, Go, Python, or similar
• Pragmatic thinking and ability to jump into an ambiguous area and break down complex problems
• Solid understanding of modern development practices including Automated testing, Fault Injection and Performance

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 121,900.00 To USD 195,000.00
