The candidate will guide the transformation of a home-grown database into scalable containerized services on Kubernetes, while mentoring junior developers in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We are looking for a senior hands-on engineer to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of VCF Networking.

Core Competencies

• Experience building highly reliable fault tolerant Distributed Systems
• Strong familiarity with database internals (e.g., Postgres), replication, TCP/IP and virtualized environments (i.e.VMWare vSphere)
• Deep experience in architectural transformation and modernization of existing services into containerized applications, owning the deployment, infrastructure, and ongoing orchestration on Kubernetes platforms
• Recent and proficient experience with Java, C++, Go, Python, or similar
• Pragmatic thinking and ability to jump into an ambiguous area and break down complex problems
• Solid understanding of modern development practices including Automated testing, Fault Injection and Performance

Responsibilities

• Design, lead and maintain multiple platform components including runtime libraries, messaging and datastore services ensuring robustness, scalability and performance
• Apply industry standards and best practices to help transform home grown database into highly available and scalable containerized service on kubernetes
• Mentor and guide junior developers.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science and 8+ years of experience in distributed systems design and implementation; at this level a post-graduate degree is typically expected or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience and 6+ years of experience in distributed systems design and implementation.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 121,900.00 To USD 195,000.00As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth. All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
