Job summary

Stanford Climate Ventures is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and operate the shared infrastructure that our product teams rely on. You will deliver reliable, secure, and well‑documented platform services and drive adoption across engineering teams.

You will partner with cybersecurity, Azure governance, and internal developers to create self‑service capabilities, scalable tooling, and secure end‑to‑end delivery. Strong cloud, automation, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 3–6+ years of software development, platform or cloud engineering.
  • Writing and deploying infrastructure as code in an automated manner.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secrets‑free authentication patterns (OIDC, managed identity).
  • Design systems with a security‑first mindset: private ingress, least‑privilege IAM, no long‑lived credentials.
  • Writing and consuming APIs.
  • Leveraging AI Tools to enhance productivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Hosting & Provisioning: Build and operate shared Azure infrastructure for teams to consume, including hosting with Container Apps, private networking, managed identity, OIDC trust federation, and secrets‑free CI/CD pipelines within the organization’s governed Azure environment.
  • Develop and maintain self‑service and auto‑provisioning tooling so teams can quickly go from a new repository to a live, governed service.
