Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Platform Engineer to build, operate, and improve shared infrastructure and tooling for internal software delivery. You will enable reliable, secure platform services and collaborated with engineering, cybersecurity, and the governed Azure team to ship capabilities that accelerate delivery.

The role requires hands-on cloud and automation expertise and the ability to translate platform needs into self-service capabilities that teams readily adopt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent experience).
• 3–6+ years of experience in software development, platform engineering, or cloud engineering.
• Writing and deploying infrastructure as code in an automated manner.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secrets-free authentication patterns (OIDC, managed identity, workload identity federation).
• Able to design systems with a security-first mindset: private ingress, least-privilege IAM, no long-lived credentials.
• Writing and consuming APIs.
• Leveraging AI Tools such as Claude Code to enhance productivity.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Platform Hosting & Provisioning: Build and operate shared Azure infrastructure for teams to consume, including hosting with Container Apps, private networking, managed identity, OIDC trust federation, and secrets-free CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain self-service and auto-provisioning tooling so teams can quickly go from a new repository to a live, governed, service.
