Job summary

Santé is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own critical platforms: the sale write path, payments integration, and the observability stack. You will work across teams to ensure correctness and performance while shaping patterns for high-write workloads.

You’ll partner with AI, Money Movement, and Merchant Experience teams to deliver robust, scalable features. You’ll lead the evolution of our platform with emphasis on idempotency, transactional boundaries, and strong telemetry, while mentoring

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software with TypeScript/Node full-stack systems.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience, read query plans and manage replicas.
• Distributed-systems instincts: idempotency, transactional boundaries, retries.
• Experience owning observability for a production system (Datadog/OpenTelemetry).
• Bias for root cause and eliminating bug classes over patches.
• High ownership in a small team and setting standards across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the sale write path with idempotency, race-condition elimination, and split-payment correctness.
• Drive end-to-end payments reliability, including card terminal integrations and reconciliation.
• Lead observability program with Datadog across APM, RUM, DBM and structured logging.
• Hunt performance on a large Postgres fleet with read replicas, indexing, and caching layers.
• Define architectural patterns for multi-location retailers and offline-resilient POS.
• Scale output with AI agents and integrate agent-written code into workflows.
