Job summary

Santé is building the payroll and money movement backbone for local retailers, with a focus on correctness, auditable ledgers, and seamless integrations with QuickBooks and other financial systems. You’ll be among the first engineers on this critical platform, owning end-to-end payroll, bill pay, and accounting integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production backend systems or similar.
• Proficiency with transactional guarantees and idempotent processing.
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise for scalable ledgers and reconciliations.
• Experience with money-related data modelling and auditing.
• Bias for root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
• Ability to own features end-to-end in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Build Santé's payroll-related modules from scratch, including tax withholdings and payroll filings integrations.
• Develop bill-pay workflows enabling one-click accounts payable in the platform.
• Integrate bank accounts into the OS for quick access to processing revenues.
• Own and Harden QuickBooks integration and ensure month-end balance correctness.
• Design ledgers for loyalty, gift cards, and deposits with auditability and concurrency safety.
• Establish financial-correctness patterns such as double-entry, idempotency keys, and reconciliation jobs.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and store owners to ensure robust, scalable money movement.
