Job summary

Santé is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Platform Engineering to own the core sale write path, payments integration, and observability stack. You will shape architectural patterns, drive reliability, and collaborate with Money Movement, Merchant Experience, and AI teams to ship robust features at scale.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of production software experience, deep Postgres expertise, and a bias for root-cause analysis in a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software with a focus on TypeScript/Node full-stack systems.
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise: reading query plans, indexing decisions, and operating replicas.
• Experience with distributed-systems concepts: idempotency, transactional boundaries, retry semantics.
• Experience owning observability for a production system (Datadog/OpenTelemetry).
• Bias for root-cause analysis and eliminating bug classes over patching.
• Comfort operating with high ownership in a small, fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Own the sale write path and the transactional core with idempotency and race-condition safeguards.
• Own payments reliability end-to-end including integrations and reconciliation.
• Lead platform observability program using Datadog and instrumentation with strong telemetry.
• Hunt for performance issues in the Postgres fleet and optimize queries and caching.
• Define architectural patterns for multi-location retailers and high-write workloads.
• Collaborate with AI teams to integrate agent-driven coding and guardrails.
