Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, develop, and optimize Kubernetes platforms supporting enterprise AI capabilities for mission customers. The role is 100% on-site at the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, MD, and requires deep expertise in operating systems, hardware, GPUs, and high-speed networking.

The engineer will build and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python), collaborate on secure CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), troubleshoot

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years in Platform or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with Linux distributions including RHEL/Ubuntu/Oracle/Rocky Linux.
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters (deploying, scaling, maintaining).
• Hands-on experience with Docker containers and images throughout SDLC.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AI/ML workflow orchestration (Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Experience consuming/troubleshooting RESTful APIs for platform integration/automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes platforms and optimize architecture for performance and efficiency.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Collaborate to design secure, automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Troubleshoot complex systems across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Maintain documentation, architectural specs, and Linux best practices; support Authority to Operate activities.
