Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Platform Engineer to design and optimize Kubernetes platforms enabling enterprise AI at mission customers. The role requires OS, hardware, GPU, and high-speed networking expertise and is performed 100% on-site in Bethesda, MD, at the Intelligence Community Campus.

The candidate will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and secure operating practices, ensuring compliance with federal security standards and documenting architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years in Platform or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux).
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters (deploying, scaling, maintaining).
• Hands-on with Docker containers and images through the SDLC.
• Experience with Kubernetes AI/ML workflow orchestration (Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Experience consuming/troubleshooting RESTful APIs for integration/automation.
• U.S. citizenship and DoD 8570 compliant certifications.
• IAT Level II or III certifications (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CISSP, CASP+)

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes platforms for performance and features.
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python.
• Collaborate on secure CI/CD pipelines including GitLab CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot complex systems across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Document architectures and support Authority to Operate with federal security standards.
