Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, develop, and optimize Kubernetes platforms for enterprise AI workloads. The role requires deep OS, hardware, GPU, and high-speed networking expertise and is performed 100% on-site at the customer site in Bethesda, Maryland, within ICC facilities.

Responsibilities include building scalable Kubernetes architectures, implementing Terraform/Salt/Ansible-based IaC, and creating secure CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/EE or related field with 5+ years in Platform or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux).
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters (deploying, scaling, maintaining).
• Hands-on Docker/container lifecycle experience across SDLC.
• Experience with AI/ML workflow orchestration tools like Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs for platform integrations.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes platforms for performance and features.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python.
• Collaborate to design secure CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Maintain documentation and support security/compliance activities.
