Octopus Energy Group is hiring a Platform Engineer II to help design, build, and operate the core platform services that power our engineering teams. You will work with AWS, CI/CD tooling, and observability to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure for developers across the US.

You’ll join a team focused on cloud infrastructure, automation, and developer experience, with opportunities to own platforms and contribute to high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS is required.
• Exposure to other cloud providers is a plus.
• Experience contributing to production systems in distributed/cloud environments.
• Familiarity with security best practices and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building and improving platform services, writing code, reviewing changes, and supporting deployments.
• Work with senior engineers to design scalable, reliable platform solutions and improve developer experience.
• Help maintain and operate core systems like CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring.
• Participate in incident response and retrospectives to drive learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate needs into practical platform solutions.
• Take ownership of tasks and small projects with potential to own larger areas.
