Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts seeks a Principal Software Engineer for the Missile Defense Sensors Software Department in an onsite role in Woburn, MA or Tewksbury, MA. Lead the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical radar and C2 software while mentoring junior engineers and driving agile DevSecOps practices.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience in C/C++/Ada, possess an active DoD Secret clearance, and are U.S. citizens.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in C, C++, or Ada.
Experience with agile software development methodologies (Scrum/SAFe/DevSecOps).
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software solutions for radar and C2 systems.
Analyze and implement software modifications to improve performance and reliability of baselines.
Drive resolution of complex software trouble reports and optimize code for performance.
Provide technical leadership in an agile, DevSecOps environment and pursue continuous improvement.
Collaborate with systems engineers and test teams to define requirements and ensure integration.
Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and contribute to program-level discussions.
