Job summary

Upbound Group, based in Plano, TX, is seeking a Platform Engineer II to drive the Internal Developer Platform, cloud infrastructure, identity services, events, and AI-powered tooling. You will partner with Development, Security, Architecture, and DevEx teams to improve developer productivity, platform reliability, and delivery velocity.

You will lead design and implementation of scalable, secure platform services across AWS and GCP, advance CI/CD, and build AI-enabled developer experiences

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
• 6+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or software eng.
• 2+ years building or operating AI/LLM-powered solutions.
• Strong background in production apps, APIs, or developer tooling.
• Proficiency in Python or Go; deep cloud experience with AWS/GCP.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and management of scalable, secure platform services on AWS and GCP.
• Drive IaC adoption with Terraform modules and automation.
• Architect CI/CD pipelines with GitOps and progressive delivery.
• Build observability solutions: monitoring, logging, tracing, SLOs.
• Mentor teams and champion engineering best practices across platforms.
