Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC in Aliso Viejo, CA seeks a Platform Engineer II to work with Kubernetes CNIs and underlying systems built on eBPF and iptables. You will monitor, secure, and optimize the infrastructure for containerized microservices running in Kubernetes.

The role requires advanced knowledge of Docker, Typescript, Golang, and hands-on experience with Prometheus/Grafana, Elastic Stack, and related Linux networking tools. Telecommuting may be permissible.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of infra development and security experience.
• Experience with Docker, Typescript, and Golang; building and securing services in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Familiarity with eBPF programs (Cilium), Prometheus/Grafana, Elastic Stack; debugging containerized microservices.

Platform Engineer II

Role Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Platform Engineer II in Aliso Viejo, CA to work with multiple Kubernetes CNIs utilizing underlying systems built on both eBPF and Iptables.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience developing and securing new services for the infrastructure using Docker, Typescript and Golang; developing and deploying the needed infrastructure to monitor specialized micro-services using Prometheus/Grafana, Elastic Stack and eBPF programs (Cilium); debugging containerized micro‑services, running in Kubernetes, in a Linux environment; providing technical support for debugging and testing the new code using GDB, linux network suite, and Wireshark; researching emerging Kubernetes technologies to provide technical feedback and evaluation versus current system stack; engineering implementation details for new systems by integrating into current systems stacks; providing general Kubernetes day‑to‑day support to users of company technology stack; and identifying and resolving security, efficiency, cost, and process deficiencies in the current technology stack.

Estimated base pay range: $172,550.00 - $225,100.00/year.
