Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking an Engineering Platform Engineer II to advance Kubernetes-based infrastructure, monitoring, and service security. You will design and deploy infrastructure, work with Docker, Typescript, and Golang, and integrate new microservices with existing stacks.

Candidates should have a Master's in IT/CS or related field and 2 years of relevant experience, with hands-on experience in Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, and eBPF.

Qualifications

• Master's in IT, CS or related field or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience developing and securing new services for infrastructure.
• Experience with Docker, Typescript, Golang; Kubernetes and Linux debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop and secure new infrastructure for monitoring microservices using Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic Stack.
• Debug containerized microservices in Kubernetes on a Linux environment.
• Provide technical support for debugging and testing new code using GDB and Wireshark.
• Identify and resolve security, efficiency, cost, and process deficiencies in the current stack.

ENGINEERING Platform Engineer II (Aliso Viejo, CA) Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC

Wrk w/ multiple Kubernetes CNIs util'g underlying systs blt on both eBPF & Iptables. Req's Master's in IT, CS, or rel. fld or equiv, & 2 yrs of exp dvlp'g & securing new srvcs for infrastructure using Docker, Typescript & Golang; dvlp'g & deploying needed infrastructure to monitor specialized micro-srvcs using Prometheus/Grafana, Elastic Stack & eBPF progs (Cilium); debugging containerized micro-srvcs, running in Kubernetes, in Linux environ; providing technical support for debugging & testing new code using GDB, linux network suite, & wireshark; researching emerging Kubernetes technologies to provide technical feedback & eval. versus current syst stack; eng'g implementation details for new systs by integrating into current systs stacks; providing general Kubernetes day-to-day support to users of co. technology stack; & identifying & resolving security, efficiency, cost, & process deficiencies in the current technology stack. Telecommuting &/or wrk'g from home may be permissible pursuant to co. policies.

Salary range: $189,805.00-$265,900.00/yr.
