Job summary

Sartre Group is building a platform engineering team in Chicago and remote-friendly US. We design and run cloud and Kubernetes platforms for researchers and engineers, focusing on scalable, automated infrastructure that supports fast-paced trading research.

You will own AWS architecture decisions and contribute to a hybrid-cloud setup. Ideal candidates have hands-on Kubernetes production experience, strong AWS/EKS skills, Terraform expertise, Python coding ability, and GitOps familiarity.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Kubernetes production experience.
• Strong AWS skills (EKS).
• Terraform modules and state management.
• Real Python coding ability.
• GitOps experience (ArgoCD or similar).
• 3+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run cloud and Kubernetes platforms used by engineers and researchers across the firm.
• Own architecture decisions on AWS, including EKS, IAM and networking, and help shape a hybrid-cloud setup.
• Write reusable Terraform and build automation and tooling in Python.
• Run deployments through GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Work with trading, quant research and low-latency engineering teams on what they need next.
• Support what you build in production, including on-call.
